Tony Martello has a Bachelor’s in Biomedical Sciences from Cal Poly, SLO. Before transitioning into family therapy, he worked as a medical device consultant supporting hospitals across the US. He recently graduated with a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University, specializing in Marriage & Family Therapy. He has a variety of experience working with individuals, couples, and children. Tony utilizes an integrative approach to therapy that includes relational, cognitive behavioral, narrative, and play therapy for children.
Tony understands the unique personal challenges of individuals and family members and how distressing life events can be. He practices mindfulness and helps his clients develop adaptive coping skills to overcome difficult life situations. He provides hope by collaborating with clients and joining them on a therapeutic journey of healing. He believes that in order to help his clients transform through challenging situations, he too, must practice the art and spirit of living. His interests are surfing, creative writing, and spending time with his family.
Tony is trained in EMDR therapy. EMDR is a type of therapy used to treat the symptoms of trauma. When we experience traumatic events, the thoughts, feelings, and memories we have about those events can get stuck. It can be hard to move on from them. EMDR therapy facilitates the reprocessing of traumatic memories and desenitizes them.
